The calls for multi starrer movies in Tamil are being taken seriously and two young super stars have belled the cat. Silambarasan and Bharath are the innovative young stars who have turned a new leaf in the history of contemporary Tamil cinema.

Bharath has agreed and been signed as the other hero in the recently launched movie ‘Vaanam’ which has Silambarasan playing one of the lead roles. ‘Vaanam’ is the Tamil remake of the much acclaimed Telugu film ‘Vedam’.Apparently it was Silambarasan who had called Bharath to do the role played by Manoj in the original Telugu version.
A happy Bharath says he loved ‘Vedam’ and so immediately agreed when Silambarasan called.With the young guns showing the way will the industry change for the better? Even biggies like Sarath Kumar, Arya have recommended multi starrer films to bring back the people to theatres.‘Vaanam’ started rolling from last week has Anushka playing the female lead. The film is directed by Krish. Nirav Shah is the cameraman and Yuvan Shankar Raja is the music director.

Manoj, the hero who became familiar to Tamil audience with his ‘Ennai Theriyuma?, may not be part of Silambarasan’s ‘Vaanam’.Manoj with the title as ‘Rocking Star’ in Telugu cinema acted in ‘Vedam’, the original Telugu version of ‘Vaanam’.

While performing a dangerous stunt without a body double in his latest Telugu movie, ‘Jhummandhi Naadham’, Manoj had injured himself. Sadly both his shoulders have been injured and require an operation. He has been advised rest by his doctor and according to Manoj’s tweet, the duration of the rest could be four months, thereby forcing him to avoid ‘Vaanam’.

Manoj, though a Telugu actor, has grown up in Chennai. Silambarasan and he are friends for a long time. Both the stars would have been excited to work in the same movie but fate had it otherwise. The ‘Vaanam’ team headed by director Krish would be on the look out for a celebrated star to fit the crucial ‘rock star’ role.

This entire week has been a crucial phase for Silambarasan as he was busy holding discussions with producer R.B. Choudary over remaking the Telugu blockbuster Vedam. Finally, Silambarasan has revealed the film’s title as Vaanam (Meaning “Sky’ in English) and the shooting will kick-start from July 10.

The official confirmations about other star casts and technicians will be revealed shortly. According to the sources, Anushka seems to have refused this offer as she feels that she may not be able to do justice to the character if she has to redo it. It seems the producers are holding talks with Aadukalam fame Tapasee for performing the female lead role while Manoj of Ennai Theriyuma will perform another lead role.

The original version featured Allu Arjun in the lead role of a cable operator while Anushka as a sex-worker and Manchu Mohan as a rock star. 

The film is about five different characters and how their lives are intercrossed on an unexpected day.
