It is now official! As reported first by DC, top-notch filmmaker Shankar will direct the Tamil and Telugu remake of the Bollywood blockbuster3Idiots.This was confirmed by an official spokesperson of Gemini Film Circuit, which has bought the remake rights for a whopping price.
Though it was widely assumed that Vijay would be playing Aamir Khan’s role in Tamil and the banner did initiate talks with him, it appears that vijay  has backed out. Apparently, Suriya has been approached for the role and Simbhu and Jeeva are being considered.
