They might be professional rivals, but, off screen, Simbu and Dhanush seem to share a good rapport. The duo sang Kolaveri Di together at an award function last year and, Simbu had even thrown a bash for Dhanush's birthday, inviting the National Award-winner's friends personally.
Now, Simbu has done a guest appearance in Kaaka Muttai, which is being jointly produced by Dhanush and director Vetri Maaran. The film, directed by debutant Manikandan, is about the lives of slum children in the city.
Apparently, it was Dhanush who had called up Simbu to request him to do this cameo role. A source close to the unit says, "Manikandan told Dhanush that he would like to have Simbu on board for a special role, and the actor assured him that he could get him on board. Dhanush himself called up Simbu to talk about this guest role and the latter accepted the offer immediately. As promised, Simbu shot for a few scenes for the film in the city recently."
When we spoke to the director, he confirmed the news and said, "Yes, Simbu has done a guest appearance in the film."
