ఎస్‌జే సూర్య ఈ సినిమాలో పోలీస్‌ ఆఫీసర్‌గా కనిపిస్తారు. టామ్‌ అండ్‌ జెర్రీ తరహాలో మా ఇద్దరి పాత్రలు పోటాపోటీగా ఉంటాయి. కల్యాణి ప్రియదర్శినితో నా లవ్‌ట్రాక్‌ రెగ్యులర్‌ ప్రేమకథలతో పోలిస్తే వినూత్నంగా అనిపిస్తుంది. హీరో ఎదుర్కొనే సవాళ్లు కొత్తగా ఉంటాయి టైమ్‌లూప్‌ అనే పాయింట్‌ను అందరికి అర్థమయ్యే రీతిలో సింపుల్‌గా వెంకట్‌ప్రభు ఈ సినిమాలో చూపించారు. ఆయనతో చాలా కాలంగా పనిచేయాలన్న నా కల ఈ సినిమాతో తీరింది.

కొత్తదనాన్ని ఆదరించడంలో తెలుగు ప్రేక్షకులు ముందుంటారు. ప్రయోగాత్మకంగా భావించి ‘మన్మధ’ సినిమా చేశా. తమిళంలో పెద్ద విజయాన్ని సాధించింది. తెలుగులో ఆ సినిమాను రీమేక్‌ చేయాలనుకున్నాం. నెగెటివ్‌ షేడ్స్‌తో కూడిన పాత్రలో నటించడానికి హీరోలెవరూ ముందుకు రాలేదు. దాంతో తెలుగులో ఆడుతుందనే నమ్మకంతో డబ్‌చేశాం. మా అంచనాలకు మించి సినిమా విజయాన్ని అందుకుంది. అదే నమ్మకం ఈ సినిమా విషయంలో ఉంది.
Telugu audiences take the lead in embracing something new. I made the movie 'Manmadha' thinking it was experimental. Was a great success in Tamil. We wanted to remake the movie in Telugu. None of the heroes came forward to play a role with negative shades. With that, we dubbed with the belief that it will be played in Telugu. The film was a success beyond our expectations. The same belief is present in the case of this film.

కరోనా విరామంలో ఇరవై ఏడు కిలలో బరువు తగ్గా. ఈ సినిమాకు ముందు నా కెరీర్‌ బ్యాడ్‌ఫేజ్‌లో ఉంది. ఆ సంక్లిష్ట పరిస్థితుల నుంచి బయటపడేందుకు మానసికంగా,ఆధ్యాత్మికంగా నా ఆలోచణ ధోరణిలో మార్పులు చేసుకోవాలని నిర్ణయించుకున్నా. అదే సమయంలో కరోనా కారణంగా షూటింగ్‌లు నిలిచిపోవడంతో బరువు తగ్గడంపై దృష్టిపెట్టా. ప్రతి రోజు ఉదయం 4 గంటలకు లేచి వర్కవుట్స్‌ చేయడం మొదలుపెట్టా. దాదాపు ఇరవై ఏడు కిలోల తగ్గా. ఆల్కహాల్‌ తాగడం, నాన్‌వెజ్‌ తినడం మానేశాను. ఇప్పుడు చాలా కంఫర్ట్‌గా అనిపిస్తున్నది.

సినీ ప్రయాణంలో ఎన్నో ఎత్తుపల్లాలను ఎదుర్కొన్నా. అయినా ఏనాడు అధైర్యపడకుండా ఆ కష్టాలన్నింటిని చిరునవ్వుతో స్వీకరిస్తూ వచ్చాను. ఈ సినిమాను ప్రేక్షకుల ముందుకు తీసుకురావడానికి మూడేళ్లు పట్టింది. ఎన్నో అడ్డంకులను దాటాం . పొలిటికల్‌ ఫిల్మ్‌ అని ప్రకటించడంతో కొన్ని రాజకీయపరమైన ఒత్తిళ్లు వచ్చాయి. నిర్మాణపరమైన కారణాలతో ఒకానొకదశలో సినిమా ఆగిపోయింది. ఆ కష్టాలన్నీ ప్రీ రిలీజ్‌ వేడుకలో గుర్తురాగానే కన్నీళ్లు ఆగలేదు. చాలా ఎమోషనల్‌ అయ్యాను.

గౌతమ్‌మీనన్‌తో ‘వీటీకే’ అనే సినిమా చేస్తున్నా. మా ఇద్దరి కలయికలో వస్తోన్న మూడో చిత్రమిది. తమిళ, తెలుగు భాషల్లో రూపొందుతున్నది. గౌతమ్‌కార్తిక్‌, నేను హీరోలుగా ‘పాథు తల’ అనే సినిమా తెరకెక్కనున్నది. తమిళనాడులోని ఫస్ట్‌ కరోనా పేషెంట్‌ కథతో ‘కరోనా కుమార్‌’ కామెడీ సినిమా చేస్తున్నా.

Gautam Karthik and I will be the heroes in the movie 'Pathu Thala'. ‘Corona Kumar’ is making a comedy film with the story of the first corona patient in Tamil Nadu.
