Almost a year ago, Anirudh teamed up with Dhanush to create Kolaveri…. And now, the music composer and Love Anthem boy Simbu have crooned a couple of songs,
albeit separately, in Backbench Student, a Tamil-Telugu bilingual featuring their good friend Mahath.
Mahath says, “Music director Sunil Kashyap had come out with some interesting tunes for the film’s album, and we all thought Simbu and Anirudh would be apt choices to sing two of the tracks. When I approached them both, they readily agreed. Sunil and I flew down to Chennai from Hyderabad, where the film is currently being shot, to record the songs. We finished work on both the tracks in a single night, and flew back to Hyderabad to work on the final mix.”
While Anirudh has sung the title track of the film, directed by Madhura Sreedhar, Simbu has crooned a peppy, fast-paced number. Mahath adds, “I’m really glad Simbu and Anirudh agreed to sing for my debut flick in Tollywood. It’s good to have such supportive friends.”

Tamil heartthrob Simbu,who made quite a buzz earlier this year when he crooned his first non filmi single — Love Anthem For World Peace— is bringing his singing skills to Tollywood now. He has lent his voice to a song in director Madhura Sreedhar's upcoming movie, Backbench Student. Simbu, who has already recorded the song in Chennai, will be starring in the video as well. That's not all, Anirudh, the music director who shot to fame with the hugely popular Kolaveri Di, has sung the title track of the movie that stars Mahat Raghavendra, Piaa Bajpai and Archana Kavi. Apparently, it was actor Mahat who got Simbu on board. Director Madhura Sreedhar confirms the news, saying, "Simbu is a good friend of Mahat. He suggested the idea of roping him in for a song and we were excited with the idea too. Simbu is a very talented singer, he has done a fabulous job."
Billed as a rom-com, the film revolves around the life of a typical "backbencher". The director is quick to add that the film focuses on life after college. "It's a college film that focuses on life outside of college — the fun of being a backbencher, heartbreak, career issues and the after-effects at home" says Sreedhar adding that the film is set in the backdrop of Vizag.

Silambarasan aka Simbu is back on the sets of Vaalu, directed by Vijay Chandar. The latest update from the sets of 'Vaalu' is that the climax of this film is being currently shot and the shooting is heading for a wrap anytime now.
The climax fight is being canned, and out from a grueling schedule, the star said that he is completely tired and needs to be energized for the next days' shoot. Simbu tweeted "vaalu climax fight shoot ... Feeling too tired, need some energy now!"
Vaalu is a comedy flick which was originally planned as a Diwali release but had to be postponed because Simbu's Poda Podi was released around that time. Produced by NIC Arts the film has Hansika doing the female lead and Santhanam and VTV Ganesh in important roles. Newbie Vijay Chander is directing this film.
Vaalu is a love story and is about a youngster who lives in the railway quarters in Chennai.The film is expected to be a thorough entertainer.

லொள்ளு சபா பேச்சாளராக இருந்தவர் நடிகர் சந்தானம். அப்போது தனது மன்மதன் படத்துக்கு ஒரு காமெடி நடிகர் தேடி வந்த சிம்பு, பல எதிர்ப்புகளை மீறி அதில் சந்தானத்தை நடிக்க வைத்தார். அதோடு விட்டுவிடாமல், தான் அடுத்தடுத்து நடித்த வல்லவன், சிலம்பாட்டம் என பல படங்களில் தொடர்ந்து சந்தானத்துக்கு சான்ஸ் கொடுத்து அவரை மக்களுக்கு தெரியவைத்தார். அதன்பிறகுதான் தனித்துவமான காமெடியனாக வளர்ந்தார் சந்தானம்.
இப்போது சந்தனம் இல்லாத கல்யாண வீடு இல்லாததுபோல், சந்தானம் இல்லாத சினிமா இல்லை என்கிற அளவுக்கு எல்லா படத்திலும் அவர் இருக்கிறார். அவர் படத்தில் இருந்தால் வியாபாரம் கியாரண்டி என்கிற நிலை ஏற்பட்டிருக்கிறது. ஆனால் இப்படி தான் வேகமாக வளர்ந்து விட்டபோதும், தன்னை வளர்த்து விட்ட சிம்பு மறக்காமல் இருக்கிறார் சந்தானம்.
இதுவரை சிம்புவுக்கென்று நான் எதையும் செய்ததில்லை. ஆனால் அவர் என்னை இன்றைக்கு உலகம் தெரிந்த ஒரு நடிகனாக்கியிருக்கிறார். இந்த பிறவியில் அவர் எனக்கு செய்த நன்றிக்கடனை நான் எப்படி தீர்க்கப்போகிறேன் என்றே தெரியவிலலை என்று சொல்லும் சந்தானம், நான் எத்தனை படங்களில் பிசியாக நடித்து வந்தாலும், அந்த நேரத்தில் திடீரென்று அழைத்து என்னிடம் சிமபு கால்சீட் கேட்டால்கூட அவர் கேட்ட தேதியில் கால்சீட் கொடுத்து நடிப்பேன். இதறகாக மற்ற படாதிபதிகள் என்னை கோபித்துக்கொண்டாலும் அதைப்பற்றி கவலைப்படமாட்டேன் என்கிறார்.

I have not watched many simbu's films earlier. Whatever I expected out of simbu in VTV, He delivered. Only then did I realise that there was a 'performer' in him.

Simbu's new house which he has been specially designining to be gifted to his parents is complete and the whole family seems have moved to their new house today. Seems like the Young Super Star would be celebrating the new year at his new house. Simbu had earlier said when he started building the house "I've always wanted this as a gift to my parents. I have taken special care designing the interiors and many of my friends have dropped in very useful suggestions." Simbu tweeted "Shifting to my new house today :) packing my stuff .... Almost 27 years I have lived in this house and it feels strange to leave it !!!" Simbu is happy with the success of ' Poda Podi' and has already stated working on his next with Hansika titled 'Vaalu'.

We had already reported that the audio launch of Kanna Laddu Thinna Asaiya will happen on 9th December. The new update is that the audio will be launched by Director Shankar, who has cast Santhanam in I and Simbu, who introduced Santhanam in his Manmadhan, will receive the first copy.
The music has been scored by Thaman and Powerstar Srinivasan and new comer Sethu are the other two protagonists of the film. Vishaka Singh plays the female lead in this Manikandan directed, comedy entertainer.

Actor Simbu might be known to take his own time when it comes to his own films, but he always seems to be available when it comes to lending his voice for others. While a few albums with his songs have already hit music stores this year, there is another one, possibly the last this year, is on its way. This one is for debutant director Prithvi Rajkumar’s upcoming flick titled Naan Rajavaaga Pogiren, which has actors Nakul, Chandini and newcomer Avani Modi in lead roles. “It is a party song in which a group of IT employees, including the lead actors, get together to celebrate over a weekend. With the visuals for the song involving the actors making fun of each other, the song will have the lyrics Kalaaipom.. Kalaaipom,” says Prithvi, who has also penned the song. Apparently, it was music director G V Prakash who suggested Simbu’s voice for the song. This is the second time that the actor has sung for the young music director, after the song Kutti Pisasae in Kaalai.
The song was recently recorded and Prithvi says he was amazed by Simbu’s grasping skills. “He dropped in directly from the shooting of his film Vaalu even without changing his costume. He listened to a rough version of the track recorded in GV’s voice just once and sang it immediately,” he says.
The audio release function of the film is to be held on December 14 and the chief guest is none other than Simbu’s new-found friend and Kolaveri Di actor Dhanush. Interestingly, this will be the first time that both the actors will be seen together on the same stage in Chennai.
